Are there "hidden consequences"?
Probably, since some people will no longer get favors based on physical traits like color and gender, but that’s hardly “hidden.” Another not-so-hidden consequence will be that white males who want jobs, contracts or education from the state will be able to get it without having to go to the end of the race/gender lines. If two men own businesses and want government contracts, they will be judged without checking the race box. They will be judged by their bids, experience, and qualifications, not by the colors of their faces or that they aren’t females.
One of the other not-so-hidden consequences is that companies owned and run by white males will no longer be forced to put the company in their wives’ or sisters’ names, or find “minority” partners so they can pretend to be minority-owned in order to get contracts they deserve. This will result in a sudden plummet of “woman-owned” businesses working for the state government. This statistic is often hailed by our opponents, but they don’t mention that many of the “successes” of affirmative action policies are actually fronts – businesses which have been forced to pretend minority ownership. Honest white businessmen have been forced by these policies to become frauds just to get what they genuinely deserve—a shot at a government contract.
Race and gender-based policies in government have turned honest Americans into cheaters. That’s an unintended consequence that is never mentioned by those who defend inequality by race and sex.
